  37.   Remeber that those who allow anonymous-ftp are very kind. Please do 
  38.   not misuse or abuse YOUR privilegde using anonymous FTP.
  39.   Think twice before fetching, esp if you are a long-distance ftp'er.

  41.   If you are going to use FTP, use the site that is the closest to you
  42.   counting NET-VICE. If you don't know what I'm talking about, please 
  43.   ask someone who know (ie. your system administrator).
  44.   IF YOU HAVE FTP-ACCESS, DO *NOT* USE THE MAILSERVER. Not even if you
  45.   temporarly cannot reach the ftp-sites.
  46.   The mirroring sites are always updated.

  107. EMAIL:
  108.   I have built a Tiny Little Mailserver. This mailserver will send files to
  109.   those with NO FTP-access at all.
  110.   The mailservers adress is BUBOO@ALF.UIB.NO, the same adress wich is in the
  111.   Reply-To: field.
  112.   To get a file from the mailserver put the keyword GET in the subject line.
  113.   Example:   
  114.       Subject: GET vi.passwd.Z   
  115.  
  116.   To get files in the macro area, put macros/ before the filname.
  117.   Example:
  118.       Subject: GET macros/upcase
  119.  
  120.   The Mailserver will only understand the GET command.
  121.   The Mailserver will send a Controll File for each file requested. The
  122.   controll file will give you status information about your request.
  123.   The mailserver can only handle ONE FILE PER REQUEST. If you want more than
  124.   one file, send several Emails.
  125.   DO NOT request the whole archive! If you request the whole archive I'm 
  126.   going to mail your admin about it. If you want the whole archive, request
  127.   a small amounts (max 10) of files everyday. 
  128.   Before fetching a file, think: "Do I realy need this file, or is it just
  129.   'nice to have it' ?"
  130.   All files will be run thru uuencode(1) before mailed, even textfiles.
  131.   If you do not get a reply withing reasonable time, please do not send
  132.   more request about the file(s). The mailserver is probaly down if this
  133.   happends. If the server is down, it will be restarted withing 24 hours. 
  134.  
  135.   BEWARE: If the mailserver DOES NOT UNDERSTAND the receiptent-adress,
  136.           no mail will be forwarded. The maintainer does NOT have the
  137.           time to manualy process badly formed adresses.

  270.   mailers do NOT like files with more than 100000 bytes. A uuencoded version
  271.   of this file is 2833 lines long and 175445 bytes big. The contenst of this
  272.   tar archive is spread around as several files. I will under NO circumstances
  273.   ever implement a mail spliting in the mailserver. I have other more usefull
  274.   things to do.
